My Favorite Actress.

Ashokamala Ekanayake is my favorite actress. Because I like the way she speaks and her performances are very realistic. I used to watch her movies since childhood. She is an actress in Sri Lanka, cinema, theater and television and one of the most popular film actress in Sinhala cinema. Ekanayaka has won several awards as the most popular actress in multiple times.

Dilhani Ashokamala Ekanayake was born 4 march 1970. She studied at St Clare’s girls school, in Colombo. She is married to singer and actor Priyankara Perera son of singer Milton Perera. She has a son, Dilmin Perera. Ekanayake made her cinema debut in 1991 fil “Deunnen Samanaliyak” direct by Yasapalitha Nanayakkara. In that year, she wo the Sarasaviya award for the Best Upcoming Actress. In 1992, she won the award for the Most Popular Actress at the same festival. Before entering cinema, she acted few ballets such as “Vishwa Geethaya and Saama”.

Her ability to dance and her trad mark smile captivated the audiences. She is known as the Sridevi of Sri Lanka. “Sudu Kalu Saha Alu , Me Mage Sandai , Sulaga , Ginnen Upan Seethala , Mage Wam Atha” can be named as the films she acted in.

Her early roles were confined to commercial films. Her career hit a different trail with her role as an “Abandoned Tamil Girl” in the film “Me Mage Sandai” by Asoka Handagama. In 2005, she won award for the Best Actress for the role “Sudu Kalu Saha Alu” at Sarasaviya Festival. She has won many awards like Best Actress and Most Popular Actress.

love watching her movies. I would love to see her live. I hope that one day that desire will be fulfilled.😊

Motivation Session💪

 Motivation Session

I like to name 11^th of December 2024 as a day that changed my life. Ms. Chathurangi Abeshika gave a good motivation, Discover how mastering English can change our life.  I was humbled and proud that day to get a university degree and become a student of Visual and Performing Art University. This program organized by Department of English Language Teaching Faculty of Dance and Drama UVPA.

In this lecture, special attention was paid to the importance of learning English in life. With the development of the world, more attention has been paid to the English language. Being able to speak English has been a gift not only with foreigners but also with local   people. English language is important to do a large amount of work, educationally.

Ms. Chathurangi Abeshika shared her life experiences with us while relating to Ms.’s lecture. Then I realized that every people  gets nervous when learning another new language. It is only when we suppress shyness that we can learn new languages ​​other than mother tongue very quickly.

We realized that learning English is very easy with self-confidence, dedication, interest and curiosity. The easiest way to learn another language is to speak it. She explained to us that it is important to speak without shame.

I am also getting used to the language. It is easy to get the help of technology. There are also different types of apps. Her motivation was able to make a difference in one’s life.

Of course, I thank our English teacher for doing this kind of program for us. Also, I would like to thank Ms. Chathurangi Abeshika, one of her students, for giving this motivational speech for allocating her time for us.💓😊

 

Who am I 😊

 My Self

My name is M.G.Dewmi Saumya. I am 21 years old and live in Benthara. I went to KSF College from pre-school to regular, which is an international school. I studied from G/Elakaka National College for higher level. It is a government school. There are six members in the family and I am the youngest in the family. I have a elder brother and a elder sister. My and sister's birthdays are on the same day. The idea is me, my sister, and the twin sisters. My brother is a bank manager and my twin sister's job is bank assistant in RDB Bank. She can dance like me. My father has gone abroad. My mother is house wife. My family helps me a lot in my studies. That's a big boost for me. Especially my sister. He has a much stronger heart than me.

I am a dancer. I am currently pursuing my degree as a first year student in the Faculty of Drama and Dance at the Colombo University of Visual and Performing Art. Getting a university degree was one of my goals in life. I have achieved that goal and am on the way to the next goals. My mother is the first and only reason to reach this goal. Mother's hope was to see the three of us study well and come to a good place. I think we fulfilled her wish.

I’m a sensitive person. My favorite color is yellow.  I like to wear light colored clothes and stay simple. My favorite food is cake. I like to listen to music in my free time. I want to finish my homework quickly and be free.

My biggest weakness is trusting people too quickly. I feel sad quickly. I think one of the reasons why a man is so sensitive is to be deceived. I am trying to fix my weakness.

I believe that if we do anything, we should ask our parents first. Because they say something well thought out. I firmly believe that if we follow their advice, we will never go wrong. My only hope is to become a good teacher and impart knowledge to future generations.🙏😊
